writes "Since finding out that Bill Murrin's GT-NExtGEn site (aka: "GoogleTap") was taken down and that he had pretty much abandoned further development for almost a year, I decided it was time for someone to take over the "care-and-feeding" of this great concept. Hence, the "birth" of TegoNuke(tm) ShortLinks.
Although the "experts" within the nuke/SEO community are divided on whether having "short URLs" really has any real affect on Search Engine crawling and ranking, this was the primary original reason for the "GoogleTap". Others just like it for better readability of the links by their human "consumers". Regardless of the reasons, nuke site owners all over have their own ideas of why they need / want this feature for their sites, and so, why not
oblige them! LOL

GT-NextGEn Based Blocks Hack from Montego Scripts |

writes "This useful hack makes use of GoogleTap (GT-NextGEn 0.4beta) from http://www.gt-nextgen.com and applies it to block files as well. No more modifying actual block code. Simply create a file in the GoogleTap directory with the right naming convention and with the right $urlin/$urlout and .htaccess file re-write statements, and you can GT blocks very easily and only those that matter to you.

If you do not know what NGNuke is here is a small description:
Clean Nuke built from a 7.6 base, it has all the latest patches applied to it and is made a lot more
user-friendly, all blocks have been custom made, it has numerous add-ons and modules, what makes us different is that we do not add every module we find but that we took only the best and made it even better. Our slogan captures the setup of NGNuke quite good: "Quality not quantity - Focus not Distraction." This statement includes as well that all updates will be available as pre-modded files so you as a webmaster can focus on the content of your site instead of on updating it and your visitors can focus on your message and not on the features of the CMS as with most distro's is the case."
