Greetings,

My name is Bryce, recently joined seeking assistance because another forum I am a member of is unable to assist me. I am having a problem with my website forum, its based off of php-nuke and I looked at the forum module credits and it said that Nuke Source was the creators website, so I hope I am posting this in the right area.

A few days ago, I was deleting some files from my website, the unwanted files that were of no use. I made my way into the forums module in php-nuke and then into images/avatars and saw a couple files that were all numbers and were image files (.gif) and knew I had not installed them, but opened them to check and they were nothing. Figured I didn't need them, so I deleted them (I do have backups though).

Anyways, a member the next day tried to upload a new avatar and it gave them an error:

Quote:
Warning: move_uploaded_file(./modules/Forums/images/avatars/129048502041740c702982d.gif): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /public_html/includes/usercp_avatar.php on line 232

Warning: move_uploaded_file(): Unable to move '/tmp/phpcnbPnd' to './modules/Forums/images/avatars/129048502041740c702982d.gif' in /public_html/includes/usercp_avatar.php on line 232

I checked the file and it gave me the following line:

Quote:
$move_file($avatar_filename, './' . $board_config['avatar_path'] . "/$new_filename");

Nothing looks wrong there though? What have I done wrong and how can I fix it?

The second problem has to do with the forum "New Messages", for some reason, they never seem to stay marked long enough for a person to click on them. As soon as the member looks at the message, all the rest of the newly marked messages disappear and are marked read.

I was told to change the session time, I changed it to 9000. Still, nothing seems to work properly.

How can I go about fixing this?

Can anyone help please? I am receiving lots of complaints from members and want to fix it, but I cannot.

Thanks for any help in advance!

Bryce

Chmod the avatars folder to 777, as for the files with numbers for a name those are avatars users have uploaded so if you deleted them any user that had uploaded an avatar does not have one now.

Greetings Chatserv,

Okay, that worked perfectly, thank you!

Now, what about the next question? Why is the new topics not being shown properly? They just disappear within a click of the forum, its not suppose to be doing that? What could be the cause?

Thanks again for your help!

Blessings,
Bryce
