I found an awesome free theme here at nukeresources but it has there logo all over it, i was wondering if im allowed to change it to my own or if that would be breaking some kind of copyright law or something?

Usually it is safe to change the logos to better suit your site, check for any copyright notices the theme may include, if none are present then they don´t expect you to keep it as it is and honestly leaving a logo.gif that promotes another website right at the top of your site can´t be expected to be left there by anyone.
