Hi all. I dont know if this is a PHP problem or a server problem but this issue is just recent.
Most of my downloads have strange extensions like .gb, .gbc, .z64 and so on. The downloads were working fine until recently. Whenever you click on a download you get a strange encrypted web page instead of the file downloading. Only way people can download these files is to right click the link and then choose (save target as).
Could it be that the extension is unknown to the server? because if I change the download to a .zip extension it works. Keep it mind that only certain files do that, some files with the same extension work fine.
Yep, its the server ... it has the recognize the extension has something to download. Currently those are set as text... thus your browser tries to read it as text with the weird characters
