Whenever I try to create a new table within a database, phpMyAdmin outputs the following message:

************************
Error

MySQL said: [?]
The field count is empty!

************************

I am running php5 and mySQL5. I have phpMyAdmin 2.9.1.1

I'm no expert, and it took me a day and half just to get php installed and running on the server (which is running IIS6, if it makes any difference)

The php service is working, and the php_mySQL.dll and php_mbstring.dll are both working properly as far as I can tell.

What tables? For phpNuke?

Sounds like it maybe something with MySQL 5. Both phpNuke and phpBB do not support MySQL 5 yet.

Oh. My bad.

I was under the impression that this was a forum at which I might get help for phpMyAdmin. I'm not using phpBB or phpNuke at all (though I have used phpBB in the past.) If I've come to the wrong place, I apologize.

I'm just trying to create a simple database with mySQL using phpMyAdmin. I've been able to use the mySQL command line client to create the tables I need, but I was hoping to use PMA.

I'm a complete n00b when it comes to this stuff, and I've spent quite a while googling away at this error with no results, so any help here would be hot.

Thanks.

Alright, I was just asking. I'm not sure about phpMyAdmin specifically.. I believe it does support MySQL 5.

Does any database script work to create tables? You may need to try and older version of PMA
