I have phpmyadmin working, sort of. I am running IIS with php and MySQL on XP x64 ed. Here is the error I get on any phpmyadmin page:

PHP Warning: Unknown: open(C:\DOCUME~1\rockytrh\LOCALS~1\Temp\php\session\sess_daonu1dm0fkpg0rvmpm1b54ti4, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13) in Unknown on line 0 PHP Warning: Unknown: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (C:\DOCUME~1\rockytrh\LOCALS~1\Temp\php\session) in Unknown on line 0

rockytrh is the username on my machine.

Also, i cannot add tables to a database. It tells me that the number of fields is empty

Another problem that I am having, this has nothing to to with pma, is that i cannot set the permissions in IIS. the dialog box never opens. Maybe somebody else had that problem and knows the fix.

I don't use a Windows server, but looks like you need to set some permissions on the folder
C:\DOCUME~1\rockytrh\LOCALS~1\Temp\php\session
