1)Make
a backup of your current files and database in case you
want to go back to 5.6 for any reason or if anything goes wrong.
2)Edit your database info in the new config.php the upgrade script depends on this file being correctly edited, else the upgrade
will fail.
3)Upload ALL FILES included with PHP-Nuke 6.0 if you only run the upgrade file and don´t load the new files your site will not
work (e.g. users won´t be able to register as the new users database table is
different, 5.6 module will not work & will return _ERROR when new users click
finish.
4)Point your browser to the upgrade file (e.g.
http://your.site.com/upgrade56-60.php
in the past the upgrade file was meant to be run from the upgrades folder but
this one is meant to be uploaded to Nuke´s main folder
not to any subfolder
5)Delete the upgrade file when done if all went well your updated site should now be functional.
Take note that third party addons, modules, etc.. that are related to the users
database table will most likely not work once you upgrade due to the database
changes, this applies to Your_Account modules and tweaks that allow users to
select their own pass etc, that is, unless their author(s) update them to work
with nuke 6.0.
