I'm using phpNuke 7.7 patched 3.1 also with phpbb which I have patched 2.0.14 to 2.0.15... 2.0.16 to 2.0.17 running the upgrade script each time. I have a few problems that have not changed since the upgrades. Orig install was phpNuke 7.7 not patched.
1. Clicking on the Forum copyright it does not show the version number, it only lists N/A, it does list the Author as chatserv.
2. New user activation is not working. Using SMTP. Users DO receive pm notification from the SMTP account listed. Had installed no email activation mod which worked fine but removed it before upgrades. Hoping upgrade would fix it but it did not. Trying to test this with an email account, I don't receive email but can't go in and use the same email address, it says it's already being used. How can I delete this.
3. All New Post indicators disappears after 1st read. I have tried different settings from having my domain name (minus http://) as the cookie domain. Have also left it blank (per some instructions from these forums, I have read and tried all post I could find, which were several). Cookie secure is disabled: cookie path / : cookie name phpbb2msql.
I can live with the new user activation the way it was before, and I just want to make sure the upgrades are there for the forums. But the 3rd problem is killing me and I have tried everything to fix it. Thanks you in advance.!!
1) The version number has been removed for security reasons. The only number that is correct is the one that says "Powered by phpBB 2.0.xx" in your admin panel
2) You'll need to use phpMyAdmin and empty your 'users_temp' table
3) Not sure about the cookie issue, since those options have seemed to work before. What is your site link?
Was able to delete from the user_temp table no problem, noticed a few users who have tried to register while the autoactivate mod was not in. I noticed that with the patch 3.1 and doing 2.0.14 to 2.0.17 inorder the autoactivate mod no longer works so I need to find a new one, make this one work or get the email activation to work (preferred method, as I said pm notification works). I'd rather do this and be more secure than go back to my backup before the patch.
If I delete all my cookies and log on the site and go to the forums then look at the cookies I only see one: dad@nuke[2].txt
Problem resolved: Cookies issue, left the Cookie Domain blank and it works now. Thanks for the help, great forum!!
