hi all
i going to move my phpbbtonuke to VBulletin for better function and secure ( will pay money ) but i have check the phpbb for new version and now they being in stage 2 of phpbb3 and the final phpbb3 will be out soon .. i have tested the function of this news version and see alot of the things i need .. subforum, images upload.. more permision .. so if this v3 can used with phpnuke i got no more think about moving my site ..
you guy should have look ..
but i must ensure that the news phpbb3 will be intergated in phpnuke a soon as it come out .. or at this time the deverloper of nuke doing on that projects..
I have not seen anyone actively working on it, probably because it is still in beta. Given the amount of changes, it would be better to wait until they release a final version before trying to port things to phpNuke
yes it is but i meaning is some one start working on it??? by the beta2 of version3 is prety good and in basic it not change much in futures .. so in time they got the V3 out the nuke site can have short time to release new version of phpbbtonuke ..
reagards
More than 200 bugs fixed between beta 1 and beta 2. That doesn't say how much code was changed even, probably a lot more. If someone wants to take the work to continue updating things untl the final release, go for it.
Eventually phpBB will leave version 2.x behind and move to 3.x, they most likely will have to provide with upgrade options for 2.x users since there are way too many, with that in mind it is safe to say we will transfer it into Nuke but at this point it is not worth the extra trouble until a stable final version comes out.
I have been following the beta of PHPBB3 and the developers have stated that yes, they will be offering upgrade options from 2.0.x to 3.0 I am just glad to hear that some will be working to bring the new version to nuke. It has some great features that I am looking forward to implementing on my nuke sites.
Well whenever the integration is done, make sure it works properly. Better if we can have some seperation so it actually will work as a plugin module without such tight integration in phpNuke.
I agree, it worls extremely well and it has plenty of extras if you need to add to it. Not sure if i would be in a hurry to go to phpbb3 and leave 2 behind.
